Overview
Sports are a big part of our community and school. Many students are constantly practicing to improve what they do and to be the best. Our task was to give advice to students on how to improve in a specific sport. Alexa, Andre, David, and I chose to give advice to the golfers here at San Marin and also to any beggining golfers. Here is our video

To make the video, my group and I had to create a storyboard and script first. Of course we didn't have any of the calculations yet but we just put blanks in the script for where we would put them in. After we did as much of the script and storyboard possible, we had to find easy to follow clips of professional golfers doing a full swing both in slow motion and regular time. We finally found two really good clips of a full swing. Now we could start making our calculations. First we had to scale up from the measurements in the video. For example our scale was for every 1 cm or 0.001 m in the video, it was 1.15 ft in real life. Now that we had our scale, we could find velocity, momentum, etc. (see concepts later on this page to see the exact math). Then my group and I started recording the voice overs for our clips. We edited after that to make sure the narration volume was about the same for everyone and added in some background music. We thought we were done but after running it through our teacher, Mr.Williams, we realized our math was a little off and so we had to recalculate and rerecord some of those voiceovers. After having some computer trouble, we finally finished the voiceovers and the last bit of editing. It was a lot of work and frustrating at times, but because of all of our hard work, our video turned out pretty good.
I think that our video helped explain what happens during a full swing and I hope that we helped anybody that had any questions about how to move you're body when swinging and how much force to hit the ball with. Hopefully those who follow the advice in the video can become a better golfer.

Concepts
Class 3 lever- is when the fulcrom is on the end, the effort is in the middle, and the load is on the opposite end of the fulcrom.
Velocity- speed with direction and motion equation: v= distance of down swing/ change in time
total v of club= 19.6 m/s
Potential Energy due to gravity- the higher the object the more energy it has how much potential energy the club had at the highest point of the swing=5.9 J
Kinetic Energy- the amount of energy something has while in motion how much kinetic energy does the club have when it hits the ball=63.4J
momentum- the tendency for a moving object to continue moving momentum of the club= mass of club x velocity
= 6.5kgm/s
elastic collision- when two objects collide and no Kinetic Energy is lost when the club hits the ball, its an elastic collision
Force- something that causes a change in motion in an object Force on golf ball after being hit= 6,468N

Peaks/Pits
Pits: During the project, My group and I ran into some problems and setbacks. This really tested us because it was frustrating to have to re-edit and re-re-edit. I need to learn to be a bit more patient. Its hard to focus if you're frustrated. Another thing I need to work on is to stay on task. I can sometimes get a little distracted and have side conversations or off topic conversations. I need to be more focused in the future. In the upcoming projects, I hope to avoid these problems.
Peaks: I really took more of a leadership role during this project compared to my last one. I helped explain concepts to my teammates if they didn't understand something.. I gave a lot of suggestions about what to do, for example, about what we should say in the script. I also participated more. I told my group what I thought about, the calculations, helped edit, etc.
I hope to improve in these and other areas for the next projects.
